TUG HILL ARTISAN ROASTERS

Tug Hill Artisan Roasters started as a wholesaler of specialty grade coffee. Today, even with our brick and mortar coffee shop in Lowville, NY, we’re staying true to our roots roasting great coffees from around the world for our customers. We’re always looking for a particular customer that is interested in taking their coffee from mediocre to amazing. Check out our core values and let us know if you think you’d be a good fit.

Some of our core values include: 

• Sustainability: For us this largely means enabling farmers to do what they believe is right to produce high quality lots.

• Liveable wages: Different people are in different circumstances, but all of our employees make enough to put a roof over their heads, food on the table, afford transportation, paid time off, vacation time and access to health care.  

• Fair pricing: We don’t purchase mediocre green coffees. We purchase exceptional coffees and put the time into figuring out how to roast them. We have a wide range of coffees covering many price points and we’re confident we have the right coffee for you. 

• Expanding our horizons: Learning new things can be so self edifying, but coffee can be a deep deep rabbit hole. With so many origins, varietals, post harvest processes, approaches to roasting and brew methods it can be hard to keep on top of things. We study, travel to origin, participate in competitions and do the necessary things to stay relevant in coffee.

• Education: When your cafe partners with us we don't leave you hanging. We offer free training for our cafe partners at our roaster / espresso bar in Lowville, NY. We'll walk you through the basics of coffee and espresso right up to some simple latte art. We can cater the lessons to your needs. 

In addition to our coffee, Tug Hill Artisan Roasters offers training for new and existing cafes. Our coffees range from the occasional way out there co-ferments to very consistent high end Brazilians. We enjoy enabling others to better brew and understand the coffees they’re working with.
