We're excited to release this coffee by Pablo and Eva del Cid from the Finca el Jardin. It's an amazing coffee exemplifying some of the best characteristics of the SL-28 and Sidra varietals.
Two years ago, I (Scott) was walking through the farm with Pablo where he was sharing his goal of producing some of the best coffees in Guatemala. While many farms are concerned with higher yields, he was orientating his farm to be growing fantastic specialty grade coffees that may have lower yields, but would excel in quality.
In spring of 2025 I cupped some of the first cherries from a sparse harvest and finally in 2026 there was a substantial enough harvest to sell real micro-lots.
This coffee is full of red berry notes. It's juicy, but not in an overly acidic way. The mouth feel is heavy and thick.
The coffees are living up to our expectations and we're excited to be bringing some of Pablo and Eva's first Sidra harvest to you in this blend. We hope you enjoy it as much as we are and we're excited about what the future will hold for Finca el Jardin!
