Rough and Ready is named after a baseball team from the 1870s. The Rough and Ready represented Turin, NY in a New York State League back in the earliest days of baseball. We learned about this team through some historical records. The image on the bag is based off of an image found in the baseball hall of fame in Cooperstown.
Our Rough and Ready coffee is a simple dark roast coffee. We’ve alternated between a Nicaraguan origin and a coffee from El Salvador for this darker chocolaty coffee.
The Turin Rough and Ready no longer exist. Don’t blink because you may miss Turin too. However, we hope that through Rough and Ready coffee, this unique piece of Lewis County history will continue to live on. Don’t forget your thermos for a nice day of fall baseball!
