Café Del Encanto is 100% Puerto Rican coffee. We're so excited to have this coffee. This coffee comes from Daniel Counde's farm in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. Daniel's wife, Sally, stumbled upon our coffee trailer and stand at the 4th of July festival in Old Forge, NY a few years ago. She passed the coffee on to her husband, Daniel, and he's been purchasing our coffees online ever since. Daniel roasts his own coffee on site at the farm in a Mill City coffee roaster. I wanted to learn more about Puerto Rican coffee and Daniel wanted to pick my brain about roasting. Vanessa and I were able to make a trip to Puerto Rico in October to scratch those itches. (Check out our blog entry for the full story).
Of course Puerto Rico was breathtaking and Daniel and Sally's hospitality was beyond welcoming. Daniel was willing to sell me 50lb of his home grown coffee. We shipped it to Lowville, and we're super excited to be roasting it. The coffee is very good and we hope you really enjoy it. There are many challenges facing coffee farmers in Puerto Rico. It's a pleasure to meet people like Daniel who are passionate about growing and roasting it.
